Another mediocre film: The Da Vinci Code. I don't like the Da Vinci code because I disagree with the entire premise. Even if people had more concrete proof that much of what they believed probably isn't true, they would still go on believing. We shouldn't need more records and some sarcophagus to tell us god probably didn't visit earth 2000 years ago. We have enough knowledge to be able to relegate that kind of situation to the least-likely of thing to have happened. A little more evidence isn't going to overcome the cognitive dissonance brought on by a lifetime of religious thinking. Look at the Mormons. All the DNA evidence and archaelogy in the world isn't going to sway them from their faith in nephites and lamanites. Look at the huge amount of Americans who don't believe in evolution by means of natural selection, even though it is one of the most beautiful, enlightening, and confirmed theories I can think of. It's just silly to think that "The Holy Grail" could ever be so powerful.

Why did people like the Da Vinci Code? As silly as it is, it is more plausable than the bible story. Why have hard-core christians written book after book "debunking" the Da Vinci Code? As silly as it is, it is more plausable than the bible story. The end.
